When Cancer Strikes
To my internet friends,
Do you have cancer? Does your loved one have it? I had cancer and I was healed. Here is my story.
First, I want to let you know that I support and love you. As you decide what treatments to have and are flooded with medical information please know that I’ve been there and I understand. Doctors are gifted by God to help and heal us. And God’s word is here to do that too either alone or alongside medical/natural medical treatment decisions in the natural. Whatever you choose to do to treat your body, this message is to encourage your spirit.
I was healed of cancer in 1999. I was 22. I confessed the word aloud over my body every day, did what doctors suggested, and cried a lot. I didn’t have super faith. I didn’t even think anything would work. I was in despair but in my weakness He was strong and His word accomplished what it was sent to do despite my lack of faith. Now I encourage people everywhere to use the word to fight. My healing came at the 11th hour while I was on the operating table after lots of disappointments and bad news had continuously flooded my ears. Don’t lose heart my friend. Healing comes in many forms and is manifest differently for everyone. May your healing come quickly.
I want to encourage you to keep a blessing journal. Fill it with testimonies small and great as you read His word and confess it over your body like a medicine (Proverbs 4).
I know that we overcome through his mercy and grace. We also overcome by His blood, our testimony, and a willingness to lay down our lives for Him (Revelation 12:11). Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
May you be found in perfect health as you overcome in Yeshua’s name. May he be glorified in weakness. May a great and powerful testimony continue to unfold in your life. You are a blessing!
These are the verses that I used. I copied what Yeshua did when He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness (Matthew 4): He fought using the sword that is the Word of God (Ephesians 6). I have added short prayers after some of the passages to get you started on your journey.
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.
Lord, help me to have joy today and to trust in you. Help me to believe your words and listen to only the words that bear witness with your truth.
Nehemiah 8:10c the joy of the LORD is your strength. I need your strength today in my body. Strengthen my immune system as you give me supernatural joy and peace. Put my mind at ease as I trust in you.
Isaiah 26:3-4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Thank you for strengthening me according to your word.
Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Help me today and every day to keep my mind fixed on you and follow closely behind you as you lead me through this season. I know that your words are life and the enemy will not rob me of my life. When something enters my mind that is not of you let me stand firm as Yeshua did and to rebuke the enemy with the word. I know your word is a sword and it is the weapon that you have given me to fight this battle in the spiritual realm as Yeshua modeled for me when Satan tempted him in the wilderness.
Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Thank you for promising me life through your word as I fear you and walk in your ways.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Help me to always believe that you think only good thoughts toward me. Grant me perfect peace as I fix my eyes on you. Thank you for hearing my prayers.
Isaiah 55:9-13 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
I know that Yeshua is the word made flesh. I know that you promise that your word will not return to you void. Yeshua was sent to heal us and deliver us and to redeem us. He himself quoted Isaiah when he read from the scroll and prophesied: Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.Thank you, Yeshua for coming to heal and deliver and recover and free us. I know that when you ascended to the Father that you did not return to him void but you accomplished what you were sent here to do. Help me to walk in faith and not to walk by sight (2Cor 5:7).
I Corinthians 2:12-16 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Thank you for freely lavishing your mercy and grace on me. Thank you for teaching me and guiding me. Fill me with your truth. Show me your ways. Help me to walk out my salvation with fear and trembling. Give me the mind of Christ and the ability to discern and make a distinction between the holy and the profane, the clean and the unclean, and the just and the unjust ways.
Psalm 27:13-14 “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalm 91:1-7 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Help me to wait on you. Help me to be courageous and not afraid. Though 10,000 fall beside me help me to keep my eyes fixed on you.
Isaiah 53:1- 5 “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
We are healed. We are healed. I am healed. Thank you for healing me. Help me to speak it and walk in that. Help me to trust and not fear.
Matthew 8:5-10,13 “And when Yeshua was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Yeshua saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Yeshua heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And Yeshua said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”
Help me to believe. Heal my unbelief (Mark9:24). Help me to trust regardless of the words being spoken around me and about me. Help any word fashioned about me that is contrary to your truth to fall by the wayside. Let no weapon formed against me prosper.
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Acts 9:36-41 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Father, every word spoken over me that is contrary to your word must not come near my spirit. Help me to surround myself with those who will speak life and truth in my midst and about me. Put forth (send away) all of those who would not speak life and truth around me. I bind those evil words and cast them far from my body in Yeshua’s name.
Mark 9:23 “Yeshua said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”
Mark 11:22-24 “And Yeshua answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Luke 8:41-56 “And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Yeshua’s feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched .And Yeshua said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Yeshua said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole ; go in peace. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. But when Yeshua heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.”
Help me to press in and to reach forth and grab the hem of your garment.
John 14:12-14 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
Acts 5:14-15 “ And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.”
Acts 14:7-10 “And there they preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.”
Romans 4:17 “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
